It was raining tonight on Jeju Island, her first rain. Being one who had always loved the rain, she felt the sudden need to go out and enjoy the rain. So she quickly scrammed out of the library and dashed downstairs to the main door. Exiting in one fluid motion, the refreshing smell of rain and wet grass met her nose, her ears picked up on the rhythmic sounds of raindrops falling on hard surfaces and her eyes saw the driveway.Tip toeing down the steps, she was slowly getting wet from the rain, but none of it mattered to be honest.
Eunji was now staring out at the empty road ahead, the street lights from the Institute’s driveway shining the road as if calling for her to run, sing and dance in the rain. Instantly her mind began to move in film motion…
Gene Kelly’s Singing in the Rain was playing in her head and she couldn’t get it out.
Dressed in a beautiful trench coat and heels, Eunji’s rainbow coloured umbrella shielded her from the rain. The sound of her heels hitting the road were muffled by raindrops hitting the road and soon enough, she started humming to the rhythm of the rain. Twirling around, she closed her umbrella and began singing and dancing…
“I’m singing in the rain, just singing in the rain,
What a glorious feeling, I’m happy again,
I’m laughing at clouds, so dark up above,
The sun’s in my heart and I’m ready for love..”
Her tapdancing was perfect and she enven incorporated some Irish tapdancing courtesy of her obsession with Riverdance. The smile on her face seemed permanent, she felt young, fun, free, happy and like she could conquer the world.
Opening her eyes, she was greeted with the now familiar driveway. Biting her lips, she knew she was going to be a dork once more and start singing and dancing in the rain, but she couldn’t help it.However, right as she was about to skip forward, the raindrops falling on her stopped and she realised that someone was holding an umbrella for her, protecting her from the rain. Looking to her side, she came face to face with a beautiful girl with such a warm and kind hearted smile.
“Hello…”

Dongwoo was a wreck. He’d never been in such emotional turmoil and his body had no coping mechanism for this sort of thing, so he just cried. He couldn’t be in his room without it triggering memories that would upset him. He couldn’t be outside without remembering the first time he’d seen the cause of his distress. He couldn’t have a simple conversation without saying or hearing something that somehow reminded him of his heart ache, and made it hurt all over again. Everything reminded him of Baekho.
He hadn’t eaten for at least a day, and figured if he didn’t get something soon, he ran the risk of passing out. He was already fatigued, he didn’t need to be starving himself either. The mood he was in was definitely not one that allowed him to talk to anyone, and would just result in him crying, so he took the longer route to the cafeteria, but it was the one where he was less likely to stumble into anyone.
Just his luck though.
He’d almost walked straight into her, not seeing her through the wears welling in his eyes. A raise of his hand, and a mutter of an apology and Dongwoo shuffled further down the corridor.
